Where are the Women? No Democracy without Gender Equality
Within the framework of this year’s parliamentary and municipal elections, the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies is implementing a campaign entitled “Where are the Women? No Democracy without Gender Equality”.
The aim of the campaign is to promote the equal representation of women in the House of Representatives and in local government as well as to promote and contribute to public dialogue on the persistent underrepresentation of women in political decision-making. (more…)
The MEP Antigoni Papadopoulou (S&D) described the new European Directive on combating sexual abuse, sexual exploitation of children and child pornography that was adopted by the European Parliament as a major step forward with the ultimate goal of zero tolerance for all crimes against children.
