The Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS) and its partner organisations are happy to make available the Youth4Youth awareness raising booklet for young people entitled Violence in Relationships: Myths and Realities.
The aim of the booklet is to raise awareness among young people on gender based violence (GBV). Specifically the booklet includes information gender and gender roles and stereotypes, definition and forms of GBV, myths and realities concerning GBV, the extent of GBV worldwide, the role of men and boys in combating GBV, as well as information on available resources and services available.
The booklet targets adolescents and young people, youth/student organstions, NGOs working on gender based violence, as well as educators of formal and non-formal education.
The Youth4Youth manual was developed within the framework of the transnational project Youth4Youth: Empowering Young People in Preventing Gender-based Violence through Peer Education, co-funded by the European Commission’s Daphne III Programme, and coordinated by the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (MIGS) in partnership with Casa Delle Donne per Non Subire Violenza (Italy), the Centre of Research in Theories and Practices that Overcome Inequalities-University of Barcelona (Spain), the European Anti-Violence Network (Greece) and Women s Issues Information Centre (Lithuania).
