Within the framework of this project “Secondary Education Schools and Education in values: Proposals for gender violence prevention”, MIGS conducted a seminar in order to disseminate the results of the project to relevant stakeholders.

The seminar was targeted toward representatives of the Ministry of Education’s Department on Educational Psychology, the Cyprus Youth Board as well as teachers of secondary education and other education practitioners. The seminar was facilitated by Georgina Christou, Research Associate, and Miranda Christou, Project Coordinator and Board member of MIGS.  The seminar began with an introductory presentation on gender roles and stereotypes and their promotion through various media, as well as some general information on the extent of the phenomenon of violence against women worldwide. This was followed by the presentation of the results of the research during which discussion was made on the various findings as well as suggestions for their use in policies that will aim to prevent gender-based violence among adolescents in Cyprus.
